If you’ve recently signed up for our police or firefighter trading card program, you may be overwhelmed by the prospect of getting all of your department employees’ trading card shots. Well, have no fear! We’re experts in this field and have come up with a few pro tips to make the process a smooth one.
Here are some efficient methods to get all of your materials in, including headshots and bios.
- Ask each officer or fireman to arrive 15 to 20 minutes before their shift to get their photo taken.
- Schedule a few days that are designated for taking photos. While your team waits to get their picture taken, they can even fill out their bio.
- Schedule an evening as a card and potluck event where everyone comes in to get their photo taken. Have everyone chip in and bring his or her favorite dish to share. These trading card programs are designed to be fun, not a hassle so make a night of it. During the potluck, educate your team about the program.
- Set and stick to deadlines. Select a date when all photos and bios are to be completed.
- Send a reminder every two to three days to the officers/firefighters who haven’t gotten their raw materials in yet.
- With large departments, trying to get 80 or so pictures can be daunting. Find five or six people who want to take charge and be the Card Program Leaders. Once these folks have been chosen, you can divvy up different duties amongst them.
